Adam + Emma = PS Research.

Twice the skills, twice the experience, twice the connections.

We're friendly, keep things simple and get to the point. Typical northerners.

What's the story?

We both had our own research careers (one client-side in the public sector, one agency-side) and then we had our own successful research businesses. Adam set up Pearson Insight in 2018, an award-winning consultancy working across the public, cultural and not-for-profit sectors with a focus on quantitative research. Emma had been an in-demand freelance qualitative researcher since 2016, mainly working with market research agencies and management consultants.

After collaborating on a range of projects, we realised that we could have more impact if we brought our combination of skills and experience together as one offer. Pearson Insight became PS Research in 2021 and we haven’t looked back since.

PS Research quickly grasped the core values of our services and the aims of our project. They were really flexible, helpful and adaptable.

I'm Adam

I set-up on my own as a research consultant in 2018 after nearly a decade working in local authorities and doing research in the public sector. A good few years of which were spent managing an in-house research agency.

I’m a Certified Member of the MRS, which recognises the qualifications and experience of senior researchers. Fancy.

Things seem to be going ok. In 2019, I was named the UK's New Freelancer of the Year by IPSE (the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed).

I'm based in East Lancashire. I like dogs, enjoy running and... actually, that’s probably enough.

Adam gives us insightful and honest advice. He really gets what we need.

I'm Emma

I’ve worked in market research for over 15 years and spent several years working agency-side in a couple of different international research agencies.

I'm a member of the Association for Qualitative Research (AQR), something I've specialised in for the last decade.

For me, it’s all about uncovering the human stories. I'm passionate about the impact that understanding people’s lived experiences can have on organisations and the decisions they make.

I went freelance in 2016 to achieve a better balance between work and being a mum to three boys (and one dog). I’ve been juggling this ever since!

Emma is creative, insightful and takes the time to understand the unique context of every project she works on.
